BEALS BOBCAT PARENTS
What a way to show up and show your support. A total of 97% of our Beals families participated in Parent-Teacher Conferences. Your students success takes place with your participation so we sincerely thank you! Also, the purchases during the book fair allowed over $900 worth of books to be donated to the Beals library. Way to go!
Third Grade Parents….
It is finally time for your third grader to shine and show what they have learned about word parts, reading and showing they understood what they read, compare and contrast stories, etc They will all have the opportunity to participate in the Third Grade Reading Standards Test! The test will be administered between April 23rd-May 8. We greatly appreciate your support by making sure your student is here on time ready to shine!

Beals Summer School
Summer School dates are June 2-June 20, from 8:30-2:00. Applications will only be accepted until April 25.
Hummel Day Camp
If your student has completed grades 2-8 this current school year and you are looking for a week of summer fun then you do not want to miss this last opportunity to sign up for Hummel Day Camp. July 7th-July 11th. The bus will pick your student up from Beals each day. Fee is $85. Please contact Ann Amato with questions at 933-6688 before May 1st.

Mr. Kuncl has accepted a position as a
P. E. teacher with the Elkhorn Public Schools for the 2008-2009 school year.
Ms. Kimball will be traveling north to South Dakota to pursue her master’s degree and serve as a softball coach.
Mrs. Palmer will be traveling to the west coast to Seattle, Washington to continue teaching as her husband will begins medical school.
Mrs. Curtiss has accepted a position as an all inclusive special education teacher.
They will all be missed.
BEALS KIDS CLUB FEE CHANGE FOR 2008 -2009 SCHOOL YEAR
Beginning with the 2008 – 2009 school year, Beals Kids Club will have a change in its payment/fee schedule for families. Each Beals Kids Club family will pay a flat fee of $25.00 per child per week, regardless of the number of hours the child attends Kids Club. This fee must be paid by the 1st day the child enters the Kids Club program for that week. For more information, please call the Omaha Schools Foundation office at 557-2045.

A call for kindergartners…..
If you have a student who will be five years old by October 15, 2008, it is not to late please stop at Beals to register your kindergartner for school.
Beals PTA
PTA sends a big THANK YOU to all of the dedicated parents who provided desserts and side dishes for teachers during the Parent Teacher Conference dinner and desserts.
CLASS CONTEST: We are having class contest to see which class can collect the most General Mills Boxtops, Campbell Soup Labels and Our Family Labels. The contest will end on April 30th and the winning class will be announced shortly thereafter. The class that collects the highest percentage will receive a treat courtesy of the PTA. Please send your labels to school by April 30th in an envelope with your teacher’s name on it. Any labels previously sent to school with the teacher’s name have been kept for this contest. All labels collected without a teacher's name will be divided evenly among all classes.
PTA is still looking for any interested parent that would like to serve on the board. If you are interested in nominating someone or yourself please contact the PTA President, Stacy Rezac at Beals.
Beals Cub Scouts
Beals Cub Scout is calling for all boys that are interested in becoming a boy/cub scout. There will be a roundup on April 21st for any boys interested in joining cub scouts/boy scouts for the year. Our meeting is April 21st 6:30-7:45 p.m. for the boys and parents.

Spring Clean Up
Beals Neighborhood Association will have a neighborhood clean up
May 2, 2008 between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. As you are doing your spring cleaning, a dumpster will be placed on the west parking lot for you to throw away as needed thanks to our Neighborhood Association.
