You are cordially invited to the Recognition Program
Honoring the Sixth Grade Students of Beals Elementary.
The program will begin at
7:00 p.m.
on Thursday, May 24, 2007
In our multipurpose room.
Plan to attend as we celebrate with our
Sixth Graders!

You are also invited to a retirement tea for Miss. Buxter, May 17th 4-6pm in the multi purpose room. You may not all know that Miss Buxter is retiring after 33 years of teaching. She would love to have you stop by. Can’t make it, how about sending her a card to let her know how much she will be missed.

August 2007
During the first couple of weeks of August, you will receive a Fall Opening Letter in the mail. There will be a letter from the Omaha Public Schools and possibly a letter from Beals. If you are receiving transportation, that will also arrive in a separate mailing in August. The letter from Beals will have your child's room assignment for next fall(determined over the summer) and reminders of where your child’s pick up and drop off areas will be stationed. Make sure your address is correct so you don't miss this important information! School starts on August 22, 2007. Breakfast will start on the 3rd day of school.

When making room assignments, many factors are taken into consideration. We look at the number of males, females, ethnic background, citizenship/behavior, student to teacher ratio, teaching styles, learning styles, academic ability and performance. We want your child in the best possible environment for learning—sometimes that means they may not be with certain friends. We take this task very seriously and appreciate your understanding when you receive your child’s placement notification.

Lunch Money Reminder
Make sure you have your lunch money paid up to the end of the year! If you paid too much, it will carryover to the next year.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR BEALS

The last day of school is Friday, May 25th. This is a full day. This will also be the last day for Kids Club Report cards will go home on May 25th, providing all fines are paid. We look forward to seeing you again in the fall! Plan to join us on Safe Walk to School/Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, August 20th, 2007. No need to call the school as this will give you the opportunity to find your classroom as your fall letter will have your child’s room number.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Well, we have come to the final newsletter of the 2006-07 school year. It seems like I just wrote the first one of the year! And isn’t it interesting how our lives can change in only a few months? We each experience varying degrees of “change” daily. It is a part of life and it can be fun and positive. It is just a matter of how we look at it.

I want each of you to know how much I have enjoyed serving you over the past twelve years! Many of you are not only parents of our kiddos, but friends, as well. You are all so caring and want the best for your children. I hope I have succeeded in helping you with educating and loving your children. Their little minds are like sponges and it has been so fun watching them learn and grow. I wish I could express to you what you have given to me. Just know that your support will never be forgotten. I thank you for sharing your lives and your children with me.

Fondly,

Kim Whitehouse, Principal
