School Based Mentoring Program-Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands
The concept of School Based Mentoring is to match elementary school students with a screened and trained high school or college student to develop a positive mentoring friendship.  The mentoring sessions take place every other week (on a Tuesday or Thursday) at the elementary school for 45 minutes (3:00-3:45pm).  The two will work together on the Little Brother/Sister’s homework for 20 minutes and spend the remaining time playing games or sports, doing arts and crafts, or just talking.  This relationship helps to enhance the academic and social performance of the Little Brother or Sister, while providing responsibility, guidance, and leadership opportunities for the Big Brother or Big Sister.
If you are interested in getting your son or daughter involved, please contact Ken Guenther, our counselor, at 554-8570.

Bag and Save is also giving us the opportunity to save our receipts and earn a percentage back from the total on the receipt. This program will run from Feb. 5th to May 7th. Please save your receipts and send to school with your child.
