We will be offering the “Beal’s Deal” in the gym which is a hot dog, popcorn, and pop along with a bake sale! The second floor foyer will host a variety of entertainment including our band students at 6:15, our strings students at 6:45 and Mrs. Ratzlaff’s Fifth Grade class will be reciting poetry at 7:15.
Other events that will be occurring:

A “goodie bag” will be given to each family attending Open House. Be sure to sign in at your child’s classroom to be eligible for this gift –our “thank you” to you for coming! (Will be given to students on Friday.)
Notice the Flag Pole?
Just in time for Open House…thank you to our lunch and office paraprofessional, Linda Kurz who put her landscaping skills to work to decorate around the flag pole. Kathy Erickson, one of our fourth grade teachers assisted with her “green thumb”. Thank you ladies!
Summer Reading Challenge Party!
WOW -- We had several students who did some reading over the summer and now get to have a party with Mrs. Whitehouse! The party is scheduled for Friday, September 30th in the gym! A time will be announced next week! Students in grades k-3 had to read 20 books and those in 4-6 had to read 10 books over the summer! The following students accomplished this challenge: Shelby Larson, Karen Saavedra, Kara Hemsley, Olivia Larson, Nathan Daugherty, Caroline Velez, Jenna Voycheske, Justin Voycheske, Christina Velez, Pratisha Kandel, Grae Yerger, Dane Herbert, Eva Taylor, Makensie McNemar, Veronica Throop, Nolan Boese, Jonathan Flight, Wendy Saavedra, Amanda Halvorson, Karen Franco, Ashton Sigler, and Daniel Widdershoven. We are so impressed with the reading they did!
If someone was left off the list, PLEASE let us know. We don’t want to forget anyone!
Individual Pictures!
Individual pictures are next week. They are scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th. For our records, all students will have their pictures taken. Envelopes will be going home if you would like to place an order. Money must be returned with the envelope by the 28th. Checks are made payable to Scholastic.
Kindergarten Room
Our kindergarteners seemed to be settled in their new room! Thank you to all who made this transition go so smoothly! We couldn’t have done it without you. We are so excited to be able to provide more individualized instruction for some of our littlest kiddos!
Fire Drills
Remember when we were all in school and had to do the fire drills? Well…we still do them. We have approximately one a month and at various times we also practice a “lock down”. This means we lock all the outside and inside doors, stay away from windows and practice what to do in the event of an emergency.
Hurricane Katrina
We will continue to collect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina until September 28th. The students have really enjoyed the use of the “wishing well” from Mangelsons! Thank you Mangelsons!
Burger King Night
We have a Burger King Night next week! When you order items from Burger King, approximately 20% of the cost comes back to Beals! Plan to take the family out to dinner on Tuesday, September 27th, 6-8:00 PM, turn in your sheet, and tell them you are from Beals! (You can even go through the drive thru!)
NO SCHOOL OCTOBER 3RD – THIS IS A CURRICULUM DAY FOR TEACHERS!
