Minimize
In 1994, the Omaha Public Schools began implementation of the EXCELS process, an accrediation model focused on student achievement and participatation in school and learning. This cycle was completed in 2000. The 2000-2001 school year was the planning year for the next cycle, which was identified as EXCELS PLUS. This model, outlined by the North Central Association, is used as a basis for the State of Nebraska accrediation of schools. This cycle was completed in 2005. The EXCELS PLUS Model was revised and improved for 2005-2010. District-wide schools use the EXCELS PLUS 2005-2010 model for school improvment.  Each school creates goals specific to its students. Data is taken from California Achievement Tests, State Writing Tests, Omaha Public School's CRTs, and other tests to formulate these goals.
