Transfers
Transfers between schools are accomplished by two separate processes. Transfers under the Student Assignment PLAN are given first priority over students not residing in either the neighborhood or cooperative areas at the elementary level.

The Student Assignment PLAN allows for students who are in grades Kindergarten through Six to select schools that are assigned as a neighborhood school or in a cooperative zone with their neighborhood school.

In the Student Assignment PLAN, grades 7 and 8, students are assigned to a neighborhood middle school.

Students in grades 9 through 12 may select to attend any high school, some with transportation and some without, based on the student's home attendance elementary school.

The second way students may move schools is by submitting a request to change buildings. The request is submitted to the Student Placement Office and is reviewed by the SPA of the requested school.

Special needs transfers are last priority and are processed on a "first come, first served" basis.

Transportation is NOT provided for students placed outside of the PLAN.  The SPA will factor in the request reason, the school recommendation, the classroom size and past academic and behavior of the student prior to making a placement decision. SNT placements are not guaranteed for acceptance.  SNT placements may be canceled for the following year by the school administration.

Regardless of the type of move being requested, the family/guardian must submitted a PLAN Exception Request Form (PER Form) to the Student Placement Office.  The PER Form may be downloaded and brought or mailed to the Student Placement Office.
