The Omaha Public Schools Student Assignment Plan provides students with a number of choices regarding school selection. The Plan aligns school choices with the student’s resident address. Along with Magnet school choices, parents may choose from among:
· The Home Attendance Area school, where students are guaranteed enrollment.
· A number of Option Schools, where enrollments are granted on a space-available basis.
Transportation is provided to Home Attendance Area schools, Magnet schools or Option schools which are located more than 1.5 miles from the student’s residence.
The elementary selection process begins in mid-February and is completed by the end of March. Check school newsletters for additional information about the Selection Process. For specific questions, contact Terry Kocsis.
