Will we phase out the perm record cards?

That is not a question the Implementation Team has an answer to. That would fall more along the lines of District Policy so it might best be answered by whatever department oversees the Perm-Cards.

North High staff consistently email progress reports from IGPro to students via their FirstClass account.

If the portal is not available starting in August, 2009 and since there is apparently no way to email that information to students from within IC, what options do we have for continuing our contact with students? Printing thousands of sheets is not an option.

Until the portal is up can students be batch added as a guardian? If a guardian, they can receive the academic emails. Or, if you are looking or a portal pilot, North would be very interested.

There is email capabilities in IC to send out grade reports via email to parents.

There are also auto email settings that when set up in the correct way can send an email weekly (as other gradebook programs have done in the past). No functionality will be lost. That is our main goal. C&L has the lead / responsibility for creating District wide protocol for communication with parents. staff, etc... If we coordinate these, we may be able to make a bigger win for all.

The email capability to the parent is limited to a generic report that the student (1) is failing or (2) has missing assignments. There is NO capability to send a complete progress report to the student OR to the parent as is currently done with IGPro. I confirmed this with Megi (sp?), the trainer from IC.
