The Nebraska School Law requires each student to have a physical examination upon entrance into school, entrance into the seventh grade or upon transfer into the school district from a district outside of the state. A complete dental examination is strongly recommended at this time. The physical examination record should be submitted within 60 days of enrollment.
If your child plans to participate in extra-curricular sports in middle or high school, a physical examination is required before he/she will be allowed to participate. Signing a waiver will not satisfy this requirement.
Physical Education Restrictions/Exemptions
Middle or high school students who have restrictions for participation in PE must have a physician's order on file, delineating what the restrictions are. Students who cannot participate because of health related concerns must have a physicians note on file exempting them from the class.
