Early Head Start is a full day, full year option of Head Start that provides early childhood development experiences in a classroom environment, to children 6 weeks (with proper immunizations) to 3 years of age. Qualifying families include working or student parents in need of full day services. EHS staff have the experience and resources to provide each enrolled infant and toddler with nurturing care in a secure learning environment. Infants and toddlers participating in the Early Head Start program are placed in classroom group sizes or no more that four (4) children per Teacher. EHS children become attached to their caregivers and we strive to assure that there is continuity of caregivers to the infants and toddlers through their Early Head Start years. EHS teachers working with infants and toddlers must be credentialed as Child Development Associates (CDA) in Early Childhood Education.
