Mr. David Pedersen, a partner in the Baird Holm law firm, was conferred a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1973 and served as a law clerk to the chief justice of the U.S. District Court for the state of Nebraska from 1973-1975. After joining Baird Holm, he devoted his illustrious career to providing legal counsel and guidance to the Omaha Public Schools’ Board of Education and school district staff. He has contributed his time, talent and wisdom on behalf of several generations of students and their families in the Omaha Public Schools. His contributions have helped make this school district A+ for students and staff in Nebraska and in the nation.Pedersen is an active member of the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, Nebraska Council of School Attorneys and the Omaha, Nebraska and Iowa Bar Associations. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is recognized for his expertise within his law firm as well as locally and nationally. Most recently, Pedersen is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2008 for his work in Education Law. He was also identified by his peers as one of the select Great Plains Super Lawyers 2007.

David Pedersen has been an A+ Advocate for children and young people in the Omaha Public Schools for most of his career. We appreciate his dedicated service to our Board of Education, our staff and our students and wish him an enjoyable retirement.
