This year’s recipient of the Norbert and Charlette Schuerman Outstanding Principal’s Award is Patricia Schweer, principal at Crestridge Magnet Center. Schweer received the award as a surprise during the OPS supervisors/administrators meeting June 3.
Omaha 21st Century Education and Workforce Development and the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce contribute $2,000 to the award, while Norbert and Charlette Schuerman provide an additional $2,000. The Outstanding Principal’s Award has been awarded annually since 1997 to a principal within the Omaha Public Schools who has proven to be a successful leader.
Patricia Schweer has been the principal at Crestridge Magnet Center for 14 years. She began her career with OPS in 1975 and has served at several different elementary schools as a special education teacher, administrative intern and principal.
