Congratulations to North High Magnet Music & Media Technology ninth-grade student Grace Siy who has been selected as a recipient of the 2011-12 National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing in Nebraska and southwest Iowa. North ninth-garder Dierdre Burgdorf was selected as the runner-up.
North High Magnet Music Technology instructor Therese Laux has been selected to receive the Educator Award from the NCWIT. The Educator Award is conferred on educators who have demonstrated a commitment to encouraging young women's aspirations in computing.
All three will be honored at the NCWIT Nebraska affiliate event in April.
