Burke High School and Buffett Magnet Middle School recently received national recognition at the Southern Regional Education Board’s 25th annual “High Schools That Work” Staff Development Conference in Nashville, Tenn.
Burke High was named an Outstanding High School by the High Schools That Work organization. Burke was the only Nebraska high school and one of only 13 nationally honored with this distinction. The awards are based on the success of local school leaders and teachers in improving school practices and raising student achievement.
Buffett Magnet Middle was recognized as an Outstanding Middle School by the Making Middle Grades Work organization. Buffett was the only middle school in Nebraska and one of only eight schools nationwide to receive the honor.
