Standing Bear Elementary Celebrates 150 Years of OPS

Standing Bear Elementary students celebrated the district's 150th anniversary by creating a four-panel pointillism mural.  Resident artist Julia Noyes of the Nebraska Arts Council and assisting artist Kevin Baker worked with students of all grade levels on designing and painting the murals using repeated dots of color.  Mural one depicts Standing Bear's journey; mural two features a likeness of Chief Standing Bear; mural three illustrates Standing Bear Elementary; and mural four portrays the Ponca tribe symbol.
