Students at Chandler View Elementary learned more about careers in a tangible way during the school’s “Careers on Wheels Day” in October. Professionals from several local businesses visited the school to share information about their jobs, as well as show the vehicles and/or tools involved in their careers. Nearly two-dozen organizations and businesses were represented, including the Bellevue Fire Department, Werner Enterprises, Henry Doorly Zoo and the U.S. Coast Guard. Students gained valuable information about the educational and training requirements for various jobs, the daily duties, and what school subjects are used in the professions represented.
