Congratulations to Benson High Magnet School art students Aljenis Bonilla, Miranda Davis, Helen Lee and Keng Yang who recently won awards in the Iowa Multi State Region Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. The students earned recognition in the “Drawing” and “Mixed Media” categories. The selected work from Benson will be on display during the Nebraska State Visual Arts Competition Exhibit at the Teacher Administrative Center from February 22—March 20. The students who received Gold Key Awards will send their artwork to New York for the national Scholastic Art Awards competition.
Congratulations also to Benson High Magnet students Devante Jones and Helen Lee, whose work placed in the Nebraska Educational Technology Association’s (NETA) competition. Helen Lee’s animation, entitled “Flight,” placed in the “Open Class” category, while Devante Jones’ self-portrait, entitled "Color Me Cool," received third place in the “Graphic Imagery” category.
