Luisa Palomo, kindergarten teacher at Liberty Elementary, was named Nebraska Teacher of the Year on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in a surprise presentation in her classroom.
Nebraska Commissioner of Education Roger Breed presented the award to Palomo.
Luisa has been a kindergarten teacher at Liberty Elementary School since 2004. She said she works to go above and beyond teaching the traditional curriculum to make certain that the "whole child" is supported as well as their families.
Congratulations, Luisa. We are all so proud of you!
