Congratulations to . . . Chandler View Elementary for being named a Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Chandler View is one of 264 public and 50 private schools nationwide selected to receive this distinction. The school officially celebrated its Blue Ribbon School Award and River City Roundup at an all-school assembly. During the event, all students and staff wore their new Chandler View Blue Ribbon T-shirts, received words of congratulations from OPS Superintendent John Mackiel and Board of Education member Mary Morrissey, performed songs and skits, and recited poetry.
Chandler View Principal Greg Eversoll and teachers Patti Anderson and Mary Rezac accepted the award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on November 3rd.
