Buildings and Grounds

The Omaha Public Schools Division of Buildings & Grounds is located at the OPS Service Center, 4041 N. 72nd Street. The director of this division is responsible for the coordination of activities performed by the Departments of Schoolhouse Planning, Plant Maintenance, Plant Operations, and Environmental that are necessary to provide appropriate, attractive and functional instructional and administrative accommodations for students and staff, and adequate equipping of each space and facilities needed to support the proper maintenance and operations of Board of Educational facilities and properties.

Elza Tabor Award 2008

Congratulations to Terrell Jones for winning the 2008 Elza Tabor Award. The Elza Tabor award is named in honor of the late Elza Tabor, who worked in the Operations Department for 42 years, retiring in 1993 as a Housekeeping Supervisor. The award is presented each year to a member of the Operations staff who best personifies the traits of dependability, reliability, cooperation, and professionalism. On behalf of the Operations Department, congratulations Terrell.

What is wrong with this picture contest

If you can correctly identify the violations in this photo you will be eligible to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice.

Each quarter (every three months) we will publish a photo with violations. All of the custodial staff that can correctly identify the violations will have their names put into a hat. There will be one $25.00 winner drawn each quarter. The four winners during the year will have their names put into a hat and a grand prize winner will be chosen annually. The grand prize will be a $50.00 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice.
