This department has the responsibility for such activities as cleaning, the care of heating, lighting, ventilation, and equipment and the operation and upkeep of the Board of Education facilities and grounds and other duties closely allied to provide a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Mark Warneke, Director of Buildings and Grounds, congratulates William Poehling,  Head Custodial/Engineer at Pinewood Elementary, by presenting him with a $25.00 gift certificate to the restaurant of his choice for winning the “What’s Wrong With This Picture” contest William’s name was drawn from a hat containing all the names of those individuals who submitted the correct answers. William is now eligible for the  $50.00 grand prize in August. The names of the individuals who  had the correct answers can be found on the Buildings and Grounds web page link, located on the blue left pane of the TMA website. 

The correct answers to “What’s Wrong With This Picture” are: 

1.  No one should stand on the top rung of a ladder
2. The electric cord on the vacuum cleaner is a trip and fall hazard
3.  The electric cord is also frayed and should be replaced
4. On the right side of the picture the container with pressurized air should be chained or secured to pole
5. There should be a cap covering the top of the container when not in use 
6. The pallet on the left side of the picture is hanging over  the shelving and should be pushed back
