The Mayor of Omaha, Jim Suttle, visited Lothrop Elementary in October to see all that the school is doing to be greener. It was a great chance for the Tigers to show off their great recycling program, energy conservation efforts, greenhouse, and composting.

It was clear that the students' green activities were of particular interest to the Mayor, and he was impressed with how those activities connected to curriculum. All in all, Lothrop Elementary, one of only two Green Ribbon Schools in the district, sets a great example for how to effectively green a school.

Kudos to Ms. Galus and her team!

Congratulations!
