McMillan Magnet Center is a safe and diverse Middle School that offers its seventh and eighth grade students unique opportunities in Mathematics, Engineering, Communication Arts and Technology. Students choose to attend McMillan from all over the city of Omaha. An exceptional educational environment is provided for students who excel in mathematics and for those who get excited about learning hands-on engineering concepts, while remaining in a well-rounded educational program.

Science Olypiad Team Places 6th in State Competition by Henderson
McMillan's Science Olympiad Team placed 6th out of 32 teams from across the state in the Science Olympiad competition. This is the 5th straight year McMillan has placed in the state competition.
McMillan individual competitors placed in the top 6 in 10 out of the 23 competitions.

McMillan Quiz Bowl Team completes a Three-peat! by Henderson
THREE-PEAT CITY CHAMPIONS!!!

At this year's city Quiz Bowl championships, the McMillan Blue team of Sam Messbarger, Isaac Regier, Jacob Stacy, Isabel Belongia, and Stephen Siy sailed through the early rounds, handily defeated all their opponents, and earned a 7th round bye and a spot in the semifinal round.

The Gold team of Miles Kay, Jessa Bateman, Max Adams, Coltin Heath, and Mitch Kellogg suffered a first round loss to Buffett A,

All Monarch Championship at Quiz Bowl Tournamment! by Henderson

Quiz Bowl Team 2012

Congratulations to the twenty students who competed in the Bryan High Quiz Bowl Tournament on Saturday.  Team "C" members Isabel Belongia, Sam Messbarger, Isaac Regier, Stephen Siy, and Jacob Stacy sailed through the afternoon brackets beating Quiz Bowl powerhouses Firth-Norris and Brownell Talbot, securing their spot in the championship match.

“D” team members Max Adams, Trevor Davis, Coltin Heath, Parker Schmeits, and Sullivan Stavneak also moved undefeated through the afternoon brackets with resounding wins over St. Marys and Omaha Christian Academy, earning them a spot in the championship match.

It was an all Monarch championship match with the C team prevailing in a 240-170 win.
Way to go, Monarchs!


 

Students Find Strength In Numbers In Math Contest by Henderson

MathMcMillan Middle School in Omaha was the center of the math universe Thursday afternoon as some 200 sixth-graders from across the metro battled to win the annual math contest.

The students competed in teams of four, working together to solve difficult math problems. The test consisted of 60 questions and the teams had 40 minutes to complete them. To win the contest the students need teamwork and strategy, all designed to make them better students.
