Richard Gulizia - Class of 1961
Minimize
Mr. Gulizia is President of the South High School Alumni Association. As one of the founders of the alumni association, Mr. Gulizia has been its propelling force. Since it's humble beginnings following the centennial celebration of the school in 1989, the association has grown to the point where it is presenting three $500 scholarships annually; publishing a biannual newsletter, which is sent to the 16,000 alums of South High School; and, in 1995, he initiated a project to build a community athletic complex adjacent to South High property. Dedicated to the memory of H.P. Smith, the complex will be used by youth from around Omaha. Leading the development of the project became a full-time job for Mr. Gulizia who has tenaciously pulled together an alliance of government, business, community leaders and alumni to see the vision fulfilled.
