Mr. Kracher is the maintenance supervisor at the Omaha World Herald, responsible for maintaining the presses in the new World-Herald Freedom Center. He has worked for the Omaha World Herald for 38 years.
During the SHS centennial celebrations in 1989, Mr. Kracher had the idea that the school needed to develop an alumni association. He talked to some friends and soon became a founding member of the SHS Alumni Association and a Board member. Mr. Kracher has chaired committees which have raised more than $30,000 for scholarships. His support of the work of the Alumni Association has provided scholarship assistance to more than three dozen students so far, and has provided monetary assistance for special educational projects for classroom teachers. He currently serves as Vice President in charge of Fund Raising and Public Relations for the Alumni Association. Mr. Kracher has also donated his time to the United Way of the Midlands for 15 years as well as serving as a Red Cross volunteer.
