Jane Hill
Minimize
Ms. Hill holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Masters Degree in Theater Arts from Humboldt State University. She is one of the founders of the internationally recognized Dell'Arte School of Physical Theatre in northern California. She has served as Executive Director of Opera Omaha since 1995. Prior to that she served as its Development Associate, Public Affairs Director and Managing Director. In addition to her 30 years of experience in arts management, she is a playwright, actress, and director, specializing in collaborative projects.

It is for these collaborative projects that Jane is selected as a member of the Hall of Fame. At a time when other people were selling education in general, and SHS specifically, down the tubes, Ms. Hill developed the PACE project at SHS. Students worked with a composer and videographer to create music videos, which soon became a joint production of "The Daughter of the Regiment," which became the production of a student-written verision of "Carmen" called "The Final Judgement." This leads us to the current project - an origianl opera written by the students entitled "Bloodlines," a contemporary and historical look at immigration in South Omaha, which will be produced at SHS next spring. All the time Ms. Hill was ram-rodding these events, she was acting as a one-woman band supporting SHS programs and students in the media, with sponsors, and throughout the community. Over the past few months, Ms. Hill has received the accolades of many prestigious groups and organizations as her tenure in Omaha comes to an end. She knows that none of those awards can be any more heartfelt than being selected as a member of the SHS Hall of Fame.
