As one reviews the history of graduates of the Omaha Public Schools, there emerges an impressive list of accomplished leaders in all walks of life. These are persons from a wide variety of professions and occupations—corporation presidents, law school deans, visual and performing artists, educators, physicians, philanthropists, athletes and many more—who have a common connection. They each can trace the beginnings of their success to a classroom in this outstanding school district.
Omaha Public Schools…Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow is the theme for the 2012-2013 school year and calls attention to the outstanding work being done in the classrooms throughout this school district. The work of teachers, administrators and support staff is focused on fulfilling the mission of providing educational opportunities which enable all students to achieve their highest potential. As a result, youngsters achieve academically and develop as leaders in all aspects of society.
The support for educational excellence in the Omaha Public Schools is reflected in the myriad of learning possibilities open to students. A strong foundation on which to build meaningful school experiences for young people is found in the outstanding support provided by the Board of Education members and all stakeholders in the Omaha community who freely give of their time, expertise and resources to ensure a strong, viable school district.
