About OPS SPS
Goals of the Department:  Student Personnel Services' Student Personnel Assistants (SPA) will monitor, intervene and alter the attendance pattern of non-attending students, serve buildings and their populations as experts in due process for traditional students and those with special needs, implement the Student Assignment PLAN through placement of students and other duties that are assigned for the benefit of our clients.
To register into the Omaha Public Schools, the following information must be provided:
  1. Birth Certificate. We collect this document as a part of the Federal 'Missing Child Act' to insure that the child who is enrolling is under legal guardianship of the adult who has physical custody.
  2. Immunizations. All students must be immunized to protect themselves and others from communicable diseases.
  3. Address Verification.  We ask for address verification because our Student Assignment Plan is based on the student's resident address.  OPS accepts various forms of address verification for the convenience of our clients.  Acceptable forms include an OPPD or MUD bill, the purchase or rental agreement for the house/apartment where the parent lives with their name on it or, if the student is in foster care, a Superintendent's Letter.
  4. Physical and Eye Examinations.
The Student Personnel Services Office can help you:
